My steed of choice for 2025

I've had more bikes than I can remember since learning to ride.  I've attended the DGR on an XSR, a Grom, a Harley and others. I eventually sold them all and went back to my favourite bike of all time, the Yamaha XSR700.  

A nice, noisy parallel twin, with loads of torque and classic looks.  Owned one from 2016 to 2021, then did without for 3 years.  Picked up a lovely Legacy edition from Ian Bell's and slowly modifying it back to the way my original was.

Apologies to my neighbours, it's not quiet.

2025 DGR! Lets do this....

Hi all, I've had to register again, due to email cafuffle.  I've been a part of the DGR in Newcastle Upon Tyne since it started and have attended every year since.  I remember the original October rides, when the weather was against us, but not now with May being the month of choice.

Looking forward to this year's ride, as it won't be the first one with my better half, Sara.  But it will be the first one with her as my wife.

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Monday 14th Apr 2025 On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
