Fantastic Ride
Friday 14th Jun 2024Hi, Folks.
Thanks so much for your support. My participation in this event raised over $500, double my goal, and I am proud to have been able to be a part of it and to have had such great support from my friends for this important cause.
It was wondeful to meet so many dapper riders from all walks of life, including this remarkably well-dressed fellow! I hope to join the ride again next year and in the meantime I will ride safely and often as I develop my skills and experince in this lovely and rewarding hobby of motorcycle riding.
Cheers,
Ryan
Why I Ride a Motorcycle
Wednesday 8th May 2024Many folks don't know that I ride. I only took it up a couple of years ago and when I share that I ride, I get responses that range from "Wow! That's wonderful! I love that for you!" all the way to "Don't kill yourself on your Donor Cycle." Taking up motorcycling has been a beautiful part of my life. I have learned a new skill that I am constantly developing. It has brought a joy and peace that is rare outside of either religious engagement or rather private co-operative activities. I am mindful of the risks involved and mitigate them through four main strategies that wildly reduce the statistical risk of harm to riders: no alcohol, limit speed, wear proper protective equipment, develop safe skills and road awareness through ongoing training.
There is a great short video about the philosophical value of motorcycling by Ryan at Fortnine:

So, to sum up, I'm having a lovely time. Thank you to all who support me through their enthusiasm and even their concern. This event is a brilliant opportunity to make a difference in an issue that impacts many lives and I'm pleased to be a part of it.
Cheers,
Ryan
I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride
Friday 19th Apr 2024 On Sunday the 19th of May 2024, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives. My Sponsors
