Patches and Matches

Every year that you raise at least $1,000 for the DGR, you get one of these nifty Gentlefolk patches.

And thanks to the generosity of friends and family, I just received my fourth one, lower right (although the 2024 design will always be my favorite...)

It's a silly little recognition, and I enjoy collecting them. But even more than the patching...I'm into matching. As in matching your donation, dollar-for-dollar, so we can do the most for Prostate Cancer Research and Men's Mental Health Support.

As of today (April 22), I've matched most of your contributions. And will 100% remember to match any others. You have my word on that.

I'm also proud of this milestone: over the course of my 7 DGR rides, we've raised over thirthy thousand dollars for the cause. That's only happened because when you  donate, you motivated me to dig a little deeper, contribute more, and fundraise more. So we've hit that milestone, together. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

 

DGR 2025: Another two-wheeled lap around the sun

Hello friends. The forssythia has erupted, the dogwoods are in the pink, spring is springing, and another DGR is upon us...four more weeks unti the ride.

It's come to be one of my favorite days of the year, getting dapper and gathering with friends old and new to ride motorbikes around the Island of Manhattan, rumbling through the greatest city on earth.

But it's also a day with real purpose, because we're doing it to raise awareness and funds for men's health. Specifically, prostate cancer research and men's mental health (we can all use some of that).

I'm grateful for all the sponsorship and support in previous years, as I am for this year's as well. Friends, family, and colleagues really step up for this. The ride has also become personal to me, as several close friends and their families are waging cancer battles of their own. So anything I can do to say "F-U" to cancer feels like it's helping their cause.

And while I'm once again participating and raising funds...and will even do the DGR treasure hunt pre-ride days before, this will be the first year that I can't make the actual Sunday ride (it overlaps with a family trip we've planned for years...so riding in spirit!)

Nevertheless, I'm down with the cause, and hope you are too. Gratitude!

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Wednesday 26th Mar 2025 On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
