Yesterday's Distinguished Gentleman's Ride was a huge success and a lot of fun, rumbling through Vancouver in the sunshine.  We had 200 riders turn out who raised over $52,000 - well done!

Thank you Keith for lending me your gorgeous Moto Guzzi V11 Tenni for the DGR.

And a big "Thank You!" to all my generous family and friends who sponsored my ride and helped me to reach my fundraising goal.

In Memoriam - Scott Hussey

My DGR ride and fundraising this year is dedicated to the memory and spirit of Scott Hussey.

Scott was a father, husband, son, teammate and good friend to many people.  His time with us was cut short when he lost his battle with depression.

I knew Scott as a member of the Old Buzzards Hockey Club, and I appreciated playing with Scott for both his sense of fair play and his sense of humour.  I'll always remember the time he chewed me out on the ice (and rightly so) for stick-checking him a little over-enthustiastically, followed by a laugh and a fist-bump over beers after the game.   And as one of the more skilled players on the Buzzards, he made all of us better as we played with and against him!  He is sorely missed both in the room and on the ice.

In memory of Scott, please consider sponsoring my ride.  By making a donation to the Movember Foundation, you will be contributing to mental health research and counselling  programs that will prevent others like Scott from being taken from us before their time.

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

On Sunday, May 19, 2024 I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of the Movember Foundation.

Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that.  I have personally been touched by the loss of three men who are sorely missed by their families and friends.

So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
