Riding for a Higher Cause
Monday 8th Apr 2024Having had a week to reflect on an unfortunate mishap on a motorcycle grand tour of Texas ride with my fellow Bally Rannygazoo team member approximately a week ago a few thoughts stand out. First, nothing can tarnish the thrill and freedom of rolling down the road on a cafe racer with a friend, not even a missed turn and a crash. Secondly, life is full of curves that can make us bitter or better depending on our ability to learn from life lessons and keep a cool head as gentlefolk are inclined to do. As a result of choosing the latter I'm convinced we will be the wiser and safer on our future rides, which are not in question especially when you're riding for a good, no great cause like the DGR which raises awareness and support for men's health issues which there is no shortage of. Lastly, and most importantly, life is better with family and friends united in bigger causes and I'm extremely grateful to have my friend and family member who suffered only minor injuries and look forward to better days ahead with increased wisdom, safety and determination to ride for self and others in our upcoming DGR ride in Austin Texas in May. Tally ho and good day blokes!
