Well the jacket and pants are on the hanger and the faithful steed back in the stable once again; with a ribbon hanging from the stable door to boot. I must say that I am extremely humbled by the support that was shown by way of donations for my virginal Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. I am also very pleased to report that through your support we were awarded this years Top Fundraiser Award which was just fantastic. I was also so very proud of my little distinguished lad who was awarded a trophy as an official mini distinguished gentleman. It was a proud dad moment to see him use perfect manners when receiving his award after patiently supporting his dad for the day (Thanks Grandma&Grandad also)This year was my first ever DGR and from my experience it delivered on so many levels. Not only providing an opportunity to raise funds and awareness, but also opportunity to connect with new people through a shared love of motorbikes and the cause. Over 125 riders participated in this years ride not only raising funds but providing an impressive visual as to the sentiment in the community towards the causes that this ride represents.

Some may recall that It was promised that if I raised over $3000AUD I would shave the beard off. A big thanks to Matasha from the Curly Collective for making herself available to do the dirty job of the shave down at late notice… I was overwhelmed when we raised a further $500 at the shaving ceremony bringing the funds total to $3506AUD by the time the last of the whiskers hit the floor. It’s taking a little time to get used to the new look and the feel of a bare naked chin in public, but well worth the exercise. An outstanding effort. Thanks once again to all who contributed. On Sunday the 19th of May 2024, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and they walk amongst us. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
