I’m Again Riding in Support of Men’s Health!

On Sunday May 18th I will be joining tens of thousands of riders worldwide as part of the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR) to raise funds and awareness for Men's Health on behalf of Movember, the world's largest men’s health organization, and I am again asking for your help.

Following my first DGR in 2001, I commenced my own DGR Grand Tour during which I have: ridden in excess of 46,000 miles; traversed 48 North American provinces/states; visited 79 DGR Host cities, and raised over $48,000 for Movember.

Funds raised for Movember support the three greatest challenges to men’s health:

* Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, with 307,000 men dying from prostate cancer each year.

* Suicide is the biggest killer of men aged 20-39, with ¾ of all suicides being male. 510,000 men die from suicide each year, that's one every minute.

* Testicular cancer is the #1 cancer in younger guys, but the good news is it's highly curable when caught early.

My rides have focused on raising awareness of the valuable resources that Movember, provides for those facing each of these challenges: 

• TrueNorth for Prostate Cancer; 
• ALEC - Conversations for Men’s Mental Health and Suicide; and
• Nuts & Bolts for Testicular Cancer

There are any number of reasons you may have chosen to come here, other than a desire to raise money in support of Men's Health and the great work of Movember, so let me help you out.

As you can see, I have been participating in the DGR since 2021, the year of my late wife, Carey’s passing, and have been fairly successful in my fundraising efforts. Although the formal DGR takes place in over 900 cities worldwide on the same day each year, this year on Sunday May 18th, my efforts are a bit broader.
