Why I am riding

I have been riding over 30 years and recently received this bike from my dad. At his age it's too heavy and clunky for him. He lost interest in it and now at age 81 rides a lightweight Honda XR125. He had neglected this R75, so I'm restoring it in my free time. It is nearly back to rideable condition and DGR gives me a deadline, driving me to make that a reality.

I also have focused on health much more in recent years, so the mission of Movember has my full support.

Finally, in the Reno area motorcycling is dominated by American Iron and dirt bikes, so DGR is a valuable opportunity to connect with some new neighbors who dig older Euro street bikes.

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Thursday 10th Apr 2025 On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
