1 Month until the DGR event in Greenville SC and the world!

Friday 18th Apr 2025

 

On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I will again be riding Big Red (my 1948 Harley model UL) in The 2025 Distinguished Gentleman's Ride (DGR) of Greenville with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of the Movember Foundation.  You can read more about Movember here:

DGR is a fun event where riders dress as a Distinguished Gentleman or Lady and showcase their vintage motorcycles in group rides held in cities around the world.   

 My father, Steadman had prostrate cancer, and we witnessed the life changing difficulties he had after his surgery.  Also, I have many friends that are struggling with this type of cancer, including   fellow Distinguished Gentlemen rider Rod Smith. 

Through research much progress has been achieved in prevention and treatment methods for this cancer, but continued research is vital!

So, before I press my shirt and vest, and polish my boots, I am asking you to join me in raising funds for prevention and treatment research by donating what you can for this meaningful cause. 

Last year with the help of friends and family like you, my donations totaled $6,249, making me #1 fundraiser for the Greenville event. 

My goal this year is $10,000!

Prep for DGR Greenville 2025

Hello all.

Today I have been working on my donor email list, with plans to start sending the emails tomorrow.

The attached image shows the status of Big Red, as I am replacing the front fender after a little accident I had last fall.  It will be ready for the DGR event on May 18th!

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Tuesday 25th Mar 2025 On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
