Time Crunch Close!

With a month left, time is running out to get the 1951 Sunbeam S8 ready for the run.

I bought the bike about 4 months ago. She ran but needed attention. Tank, seat, most of the rear off, the clutch race has been sorted (hopefully - a bit of a hack or it's engine out) as well as cleaned, greased, all 4 oils done, plugs etc. - basically a recommission.

On initial gas fill this weekend, the carb leaked something fierce. A new carb gasket set ordered and hopefully with a strip and rebuild, she'll be good for a start. The engine seems strong but the bronze rear worm drive is a little tired - it's a bit of a gamble (and a lot of money to replace) - but we'll roll the dice.

In the event of disaster, I have a Gen 1 SV650 to ride, but I am hoping the 74 year old Sunbeam will be ready for her time in the sun beams with the ladies and gents.

Without getting into it, people close to me have suffered greatly with the issues that this ride is about, so this is a worthy cause perhaps worth  attention. I hope to raise a little money to help, whilst having some fun.

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

Wednesday 26th Mar 2025 On Sunday the 18th of May 2025, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember. Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that. So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.
